New Common[2G/3G] Data Plans from 15-August-2013

Wednesday, 14 August 2013

On the occasion of Independence Day, BSNL announced drastic reduction in prepaid data tariff effective from 15th August 2013.

Earlier 1GB data with 30 days validity was costing Rs.250, but now the same is offered at Rs.140. Now for Rs.252, you will get the double data(2GB).

There will be no differentiation for use of 3G or 2G network as BSNL has enabled its all subscribers with 3G facility and they can use the service anytime simply by having 3G handset.

So you can get 3G speeds with any (2G/3G) plan, if your handset supports 3G and you are in a 3G coverage area.

All the existing 2G/3G data recharge vouchers will be discontinued from 15-08-2013. New longer validity STV-821 with 7GB free data is available from 01-October-2013. STV-1949 is available from 01-Deccember-2013.

New Uniform Data Voucher Details:

Uniform Data RCV
(MRP in Rs)
Free Data
(in days)

One disadvantage with this new common vouchers is that, if you are living in a place where 3G is not available, you have to shell out more compared to previous 2G data vouchers.

Will this improve mobile data consumption? are you going to use these data vouchers regularly?
